Finish 2019 with 40 days of prayer! Day 17

“A holy life does not live in the closet, but it cannot live without the closet. ” E.M. Bounds

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

This song speaks to me as I have had times of waiting this past year. Waiting for medication to work, waiting as various situations unfold - situations which I have no control. Jesus said “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27, NLT) In this world we will encounter many things that will trouble us, and in this middle of those times it is so easy to be filled with anxiety and fear. We long for peace deep down in our souls. We have a Savior who came to bring peace to our hearts because of the work He did on the cross on our behalf. This is a season where we remember His birth, but we know why He was born - to bring us peace and to make it possible for us to be in relationship to Him. What an amazing gift! I cannot comprehend it!

  • Praise God for the peace that He makes possible in our souls.

  • Pray that God would help you release situations to Him and bring you peace.

  • Pray that God would make CEC known as a place of peace and rest in Jesus.

  • Pray that God would show us how to live as examples of His peace in relationships in all areas of life - work, home, social groups.

  • Pray specifically for those you know who do not yet know the peace of God in their lives.

Let's look with expectation for answers that God provides in these final days of 2019!
