At a pastor's prayer gathering this week, one pastor shared how he had committed to praying for his church for 40 days, and he shared how others had begun to join him. He walks around his church each day for an hour and prays. I know myself well enough to know I am not able to sustain that right now, but I believe God will help me to sustain encouraging our church to finish out 2019 by engaging in 40 days of prayer!
I looked at my calendar and realized that if we start TODAY, we can finish the last 40 days of 2019 by praying for CEC, our surrounding neighborhood, our city and our world!
If you'd like to join us in prayer for these next 40 days, click HERE.
I'll be sending out one email each day, and hope to include a song (lots of different styles), some scripture and some prayer prompts.
If you'd like to join us in person to pray, we'll be hosting a prayer time on December 12 - 6:30 - 7:30 PM at CEC. Contact me at karen@evch.org for more information or questions.
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.
Ephesians 1:18-21
Prayer is extraordinary because we have an extraordinary God with incomparably great power. We pray with a vision of His power. Ephesians 3:20 says that He can do beyond what we can ask or imagine.
Pray that God would increase our desire to pray!
Pray that God gives you a perspective on your Christian life and the life of CEC that is beyond what is seen.
Pray that God increases our hearts for the community around us.
Pray that God would increase our faith in Him.
Pray that God would teach us more about how to truly praise Him.
Let's look with expectation for answers that God provides in these final days of 2019!
Pastor Karen
