Finish 2019 with 40 days of prayer! Day 6

“Intercessory prayer is exceedingly prevalent. What wonders it has wrought! The Word of God teems with its marvelous deeds. Believer, thou hast a mighty engine in thy hand, use it well, use it constantly, use it with faith, and thou shalt surely be a benefactor to thy brethren.” – C. H. Spurgeon

You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.  Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:11-15

I love this reminder that our generosity is something that produces thanksgiving to God. As we are generous with our time, our gifts & talents, and our financial resources, people can't help but praise God as we humbly serve in His name. And the amazing truth is that those being served are not the only ones blessed. It is we also who are blessed to serve - because when we do, we do what Jesus came to do. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve.

  • Pray that God would fill us to overflowing with His Spirit.

  • Pray that we would be generous - operating with a belief in the abundance of the God.

  • Pray that we would hunger and thirst for God's righteousness and goodness to be made known in our city

  • Pray for deliverance for those who have been enslaved by their own choices or life's circumstances.

  • Pray that we would be filled with the knowledge of His will in every situation we face.

Let's look with expectation for answers that God provides in these final days of 2019!
