Finish 2019 with 40 days of prayer! Day 38

"The value of persistent prayer is not that God will hear us, but that we will finally hear God." - William McGill

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. ~ John 15:13

When I think about the sacrifice that was made for me, I am humbled. Because deep down, I know how little I am actually willing to sacrifice for others when it comes right down to it. Often I'm able to sacrifice something when it's convenient - but then is it really a sacrifice? Choosing to live a loving, other-centered, sacrificial life is hard because I am so wired for self-preservation. Our longing this Advent is to know and experience the sacrificial love of Jesus in our own lives - may we continue into 2020 with a deeper experience of His love!

  • Praise God for His sacrificial love for you. Thank God that His work in your life is ongoing and loving.

  • Pray that God would make His will clear in situations that you are seeking His direction.

  • Ask God to bring healing and restoration physically, spiritually, emotionally and mentally where it is needed.

  • Pray that God would continue to teach us how to live in community with other believers so that people are drawn to the love of Jesus in us.

  • Pray that God would continue to teach us through His word to focus on His truth in the face of all that tries to draw us away.

Let's look with expectation for answers that God provides in these final days of 2019!
