“For many years I was bothered by the thought that I was a failure at prayer. Then one day I realized I would always be a failure at prayer; and I’ve gotten along much better ever since!” -Brother Lawrence, The Practice of the Presence of God
“But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” —Lamentations 3:21-23
Here it is. Day 40 of ending 2019 with 40 days of prayer. It has been a wonderful and challenging journey, and I am looking forward to knowing how God has answered prayer in your life or what He has taught you in these last days of 2019. Personally this time has sharpened my focus - bringing Him clearly before me as I walk through times of joy and times of challenge. My heart is being renewed in Him each day and I can feel His presence and peace when I am tempted to fret about many things.
I love this verse in Lamentations because it helps us to consider the past, the present and the future all at the same time. Remembering the Lord's faithfulness to us in the past causes hope to rise up within us - and there is a reminder of the daily-ness of God's mercy in our lives. Great is the faithfulness of our amazing God!
Praise God for His consistent and steadfast faithfulness in your life.
Pray that God would be made famous in Corvallis and surrounding cities because of the way we follow Him at CEC.
Pray that our hearts would overflow with His joy and peace as we trust in Him.
Pray that we would seek God's vision and will for CEC in 2020 - hearing clearly what He would lead us to do or be.
Pray that we at CEC would grow in knowledge and depth of insight so that we will be able to discern what is best and be kept pure & blameless until Jesus restores all things.
Let's look with expectation for answers that God provides in these final days of 2019!
