A person wants to learn about God and the Good News of Jesus Christ. He/she moves toward a commitment to follow Christ.

Taking the First Steps with Jesus
Phase:  Come Follow Me
Time Frame:  1-2 years
Focus:  Consistent growth and learning the basics

A disciple has made the decision to follow Jesus Christ, has been baptized and desires to learn and practice basic Christian habits that will help him/her to live the Christian life. He/she desires to know God and learn to love Him in a deeper way.  Habits such as prayer, reading/knowing God's word, fellowship and accountability with other believers, giving of his time, talents, and finances are important in the spiritual life of the disciple.

Walking in Step with Jesus
Phase:  Be With Me
Time Frame:  2-3 years
Focus:  Leading/serving with others in ministry

A disciple helps others learn to walk with Jesus as he/she seeks to learn even more in his/her own relationship to Christ.  He/she is consistent in basic habits and can help others to develop those habits.  He/she is able to lead or serve.

Keeping the Pace that Jesus Set
Phase: Remain in Me
Timeframe:  Lifetime
Focus:  Multiplying Ministry 

A disciple continues to lead and serve with others, with the emphasis on teaching others how to do what he/she does, either serving or leading.  There is an on-going desire to grow and know Christ better, and a continuing commitment to remain in Christ no matter what the cost.
