Chris and Rachel made Mother’s Day pictures with their Pre-school thru’ 1st grade Children’s Church. After all the Easter festivities, they colored pictures of things Jesus did and talked about the truth of the Bible. We also took out some very noisy instruments and praised Him!! (Did you hear us?)
Scott and Lori’s 2nd-5th Children’s Church can show you how to make five popsicle sticks stick together without adhesive! First, make a triangle representing the Trinity, then build a Cross inside. I have an example in my office! Emphasizing real life in Bible history, the kids imagined the descendents of Jacob living in Egypt for the 200 years since George Washington...times two.
Chelle’s Preschool Kids Bible Fellowship made hand-print cards for mom and decorated foam sheets. It’s a good thing the teacher brought enough supplies...Seth brought three of his cousins to see his baby brother’s dedication! Finishing the David unit, the class made puffy-paint t-shirt ‘armor’ along the theme that small people can do BIG things with God.
Becky, Linda, and Larry encourage the Kindergarten & 1st Grade KBF to post requests on their ‘Prayer Bears’ each week. Their students like to play games and plan to go shopping with fish! They earn fish with attendance, being a good listener, helpfulness, etc. Later, they’ll spend the fish they’ve earned at an in-class store!
Colleen and Dave’s 2nd & 3rd Grade KBF have been learning about the miracle of Jesus healing the 10 men from leprosy in Luke Chapter 17. Since this disease still exists today, American Leprosy Mission was cited in the class materials. This class will be collecting coins to send for the cause through May. More recently, their class explored fishing themes in the New Testament, particularly casting your net on the other side. Now the kids are talking about a family fishing trip this summer. The only question: fly, bait, or both?
Jeanne and Carol’s KBF of 4th & 5th graders are diving deeper into the Book of Acts. One foundational theme: those first Jewish Christians got the good word OUT to the Gentiles, too! Small groups of students have been armoring a Roman soldier, plotting destinations on a home-made map of the Mediterranean, and building a sturdy ship...from paper!!
