What are Adult Bible Fellowships?

ABF's are the ADULT alternative to "Sunday School."  We strive to meet the unique needs of adults.  We further recognize that adults tend to form stronger bonds with other adults of similar "life stages."  Thus, we have broken our ABF groups into broad "time of life" periods.

We study the
BIBLE because it's God's Word and because it is important and relevant for life.  The study of the Bible and its application to everyday life is a primary goal of our ABFs, and we use various methods of teaching to accurately teach the Bible.

We believe that ABFs are much more than mere adult Sunday School, because they include interaction and FELLOWSHIP between people both inside and outside of normal class times.  We strive to get to know one another, pray for each other, care about each other's needs, become friends with one another and help each other grow.  (Think adult "youth group!")

The following Adult Bible Fellowships
are currently meeting:

J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) Bible Fellowship (for our Seniors) - 9:00 AM, Room 4
Crossroads Bible Fellowship
 - 10:30 AM, Room 4
Family Matters Bible Fellowship
 - 10:30 AM, Room 23
Wednesday Night Bible Fellowship - 7:00 PM, Room 4, each Wednesday.

Small Groups @
Corvallis Evangelical

Small Groups at Corvallis Evangelical are designed to help people grow in their walk with Christ, no matter what their starting place.

Discovery Groups - Open groups that meet weekly for a specific amount of time (usually 6-8 weeks) to help anyone learn about who God is, what the Bible is all about, why anyone would even become a Christian and other questions that seekers or new believers might have.  (See Discovering a New Way to Walk.)

Growth Groups - Designed to help newer believers or anyone who wants to learn & practice the basics of walking in a relationship with Christ - reading the Bible, praying, learning how to serve, and being accountable to other believers for spiritual growth. Usually meet weekly  for 1-2 years (except for summer). (See Taking the First Steps with Jesus.)

Life Groups - An extension of Growth Groups, these groups are designed to help everyone to continue to make the journey on their walk with God, and to grow deeper in love with Him.  Life groups also encourage people to step out in ministry and either learn to lead a ministry or serve in some capacity in the life of the church or community. Usually meet weekly for 1-2 years (except for summer.) (See Walking in Step with Jesus and Keeping the Pace that Jesus Set.)

Support Groups - Various support groups will meet at different times throughout the year to meet the needs of those who are dealing with specific issues.
